Non-report

Peril's Piscatorial Paddling Perambulations hit the water again this morning, this time with son on the Tunny. Everything was against us today. Sea and wind higher than expected. Lures left at home save for the jig heads attached to the rods, 3pkt of sp in my pfd and a tray of poppers. Thought stuff it, if we find the fish like on Sunday there's enough tackle for some fun. Limited to one rod each to keep it simple for his nibs first open water fishing trip. Then when we got through the break and organised ourselves, the FF wouldn't power up. I think I broke something reordanising the wiring yesterday.

So with few lures, a lumpy sea and no idea where we were or what was under us, we went for a paddle trailing the poppers. I think I got near Spot C, but the sea was too lumpy so see any surface action unless the fish were leaping out at us. We just paddled on a bit then returned to the beach, with both of us maintaining our pride on the landing.

Let's hope Boxing Day is better

Failure requires no preparation. Good to see a father and son trip - do you think it will be a regular thing ?.

Checked the wiring yesterday. One of the power wires from the transducer had broken. It really irks me that Eagle/Lowrance use such light gauge wire for this as it is hard to protect and breaks easily. Unfortunately there is no way of replacing it as it comes out of the moulded plug
