Went out with Wayne this morning, with him using the ski while I was on the tupperware. At the end of the first drift at Spot D, I pulled in a small legal snapper on the usual power minnow. A couple of drifts later, Wayne has a freight train hit the same sp and find the bottom. Guessing it was a very good snapper.

It was fairly quiet so we went to explore Spot C, a spot that shows lots of promise but had not produced. After a short time, Wayne called out that there were fish behind him. For the next hour or so we had loads of fun chasing rat kings and salmon. The net result was average, with no salmon landed but Wayne at least got his first few yak kings and I landed one rat. A mix of sps and a surface lure (skitterpop?) did the damage for Wayne while I plugged away with slugs and sps (didn't have any sps small enough for the salmon).

Called time and paddled in. The tupperware got sideways on a broken wave but I braced and rode it till it straightened and arrived without incident. Unfortunately for Wayne, he caught a good wave but was spearing straight at me so bailed to avoid the collision.

Here's a pic of Wayne on my tunny with his first yak caught rat
