Back out in search of snapper today. None of the usual techniques attracted any interest. Came upon a patch of birds. Paddling around them scored a rat and a 4.4kg skipjack tuna.

Also experimented with using my phone as GPS, using the GPS Essentials app, after my combo unit packed it in on the weekend. Only issue is that the GPS accuracy is pretty poor (maybe because I had the phone between my legs) . At least it reads kml files and I'd been fortunate enough the reorganise and save all of my marks a few days before the combo unit succumbed to corrosion
