Catch: 2 x tailor @ 35cm
Normally would have stayed at home today (wind at 20kt) but went to join the Sydney Angler Social. Aim was to troll around Barranjoey Head and down to Whale Beach looking for salmon (or kings) before returning to The Basin for the BBQ lunch. Got to Barranjoey and it was clearly too windy to attempt rounding the head so I headed over to West Head then paddled/drifted while casting a slug when I could. Got almost as far as Scotland Is before returning to The Basin, picking up three tailor (keeping two) on the trolled sps. Lost another one when trolling back across to Sandy Pt

Dave waiting for this report and was wondering if you were silly enough to head out:).
Was it a good turn out though?
Yes Dave, but not silly enough to attempt open water.
It was a good turn out, although some just came for the BBQ. No salmon were caught. A few lizards and choppers were it for the lot of us
Yes Dave it was blowing a gale , and glad to see you got a few tailor , very big ? , i guess they will be smoked , or no doubt you'll come up with some exquisite recipe to enjoy them .
Shame about the wind Dave, but nothing wrong with a couple of fresh tailor to chomp on.
cheers
