It's been quiet lately

Hadn't been to Long Reef for three weeks, with nothing caught then. Had managed a pannie a few days earlier on a brown and orange clouser. Reports from fellow launchers were of slim pickings in recent weeks.

Trolled out a red, ping and white fly that had a take but didn't stick. One drift and a handful of casts resulted in a very solid take on the drop. Only using a 6wt rod, with 7WF floating line and a chartreuse and red clouser. Took about 20m of backing before it stopped. 4.3kg

Have managed a snapper on fly every month so far this year
