The past couple of months have seen an unseasonal influx of bonito. Not in great numbers like some late winters but of a size to compensate. Some as long as 80cm though I've only caught them to around 60cm (2kg)
They are partial to trolled flies, with epoxy minnows being most successful. A billfish tube looking like a yakka lured one yesterday
The larger fish are pretty good on the tooth, either grilled or as a tagine. Must be bled well, use only the white flesh and only just cooked through
