A couple of recent trips

Brief reports of a couple of less than stellar outings.

Met kas at Roseville around 4pm last Thursday. Headed down to the main arm of the harbour trolling sps. kas hooked up but with light line and light drag was broken off. No colour seen. Small rat, maybe. We tried drifting and casting among the moorings, with plenty showing on the sounder, but the only action was leatherjackets demolishing our plastics. Trolled our way back and I managed a decent chopper near Bantry Bay.

Sunday morning I met kas again and we headed through non-existent surf to Spot C. A few boils were apparent as we setup the rods and and various stages throughout the paddle but nothing worth reporting would take our lures. Again, there was plenty on the sounder to keep us keen, but jigs and sps were ignored. Water visibility was about 8m and it was sunny.
