Same ol' same ol'

Harbour again. Dawn start under broken skies. 15kt SW wind that dropped off later had thrown up a lot of chop so not a good day for the tunny. Trolled a surf popper rig with two poppers and an sp at the end hoping for the bonito etc that are supposed to be around. Slug at the ready on the other rod to try jig slimys out of bait balls. Tried this for a couple of hours with barely a touch, and that was on the slug when I was trolling it.

Swapped over to a normal sp and tried jigging while I drifted by a marker. Sounder was promising anything and the promise was delivered.

Noone else catching anything but the bottom. Pulled the pin after three hours. Did catch up with a bloke I hadn't seen in a few years so not a total loss. Water was same colour and temp as last couple of weeks. Here's hoping for a change, any change, before next week

Well ,mate it wasnt a bad day to be on the water and clean some of the cobwebs out of your head with a nice paddle , even when you dont catch fish if you have a paddle in your hands its a good day , much better i suspect than having a peddle at your feet
