Beautiful calm, sunny day. Unfortunately conditions were not ideal. A week since any big swell so reduced chances of snapper. Biggest problem though was the algae. Visibility was down to 5m and the water was thick with slimy brown algae. It manifested as an attractive blue bio-luminescence in the dark but fouled lines and lures. Some bait balls evident and garfish on the surface on the way out. Only got two touches.

Lures used were 4" pumpkinseed power minnow, 5" pumpkinseed blurp shad, 7" opening night bass assassin shad and 40g orange duel salty rubber. It was my first try of the blurp shad and they seem very promising, with the scent drawing one of the two touches. Only problem was having to destroy the resealable pack to get out the lures because it was sealed below the ziplock!
